Friends help out Museum’s major Summer exhibition

Curator Nikki Caxton and Assistant Curator George Graham add the finishing touches to the exhibition

The Friends have provided support for Horsham Museum & Art Gallery’s Summer Exhibition – Frederick DuCane Godman: The Legacy of a Collector.

This latest addition to the Museum has proved a big success and has even been mentioned in the latest British Museum magazine!

The exhibition takes up an entire gallery and is packed full of information and artefacts relating to Godman, who was a local explorer, collector and natural scientist and lived at nearby South Lodge.

Members of Godman’s family, plus Horsham district councillors and Friends committee members were invited to a preview evening at which much praise was heaped on the efforts of all those involved.

The exhibition will run until September 24.

You can read more about Godman’s amazing life and links to the district in Assistant Curator George Graham’s blog.
