As part of the Museum’s summer exhibition on local collector Frederick DuCane Godman, a series of workshops and a free talk are being held during August.
On Friday August 4 there’s the chance to create a flower crown from fresh flowers. This is inspired by Godman’s plant collection.
This workshop takes place during the next August Friday Late event.
Then, on Tuesday August 8, the next workshop will be to create a beautiful crepe paper Camellia. There are two sessions being held during the day.
The final workshop, on Thursday August 10, will be to create an impressive terrarium (plants encased in a glass container).
Tea and coffee will be provided at all the workshops.
Booking is essential and if you are interested then go to the Museum’s events page to find out times and costs and ensure you secure your place.
There’s also a free talk, entitled ‘In the footsteps of George Charles Champion, a Collector for Godman in Guatemala’, on Friday August 11 at 10.30am.
Again, booking is required as this should prove a popular event. You can book via the Museum’s page that has more on the talk.
