Horsham Museum’s Adopt an Artefact scheme has been running for just over four years now and has raised £1,150 for the museum, despite its introduction just before the Covid pandemic which resulted in the museum being closed for quite a few months.
We have seen 15 different artefacts adopted overall, with the mummified cat, cricket stumps, bat and ball shop sign and Alfred Shrubb’s running shoes proving to be the most popular.

The current selection of 12 artefacts has 14 sponsors, although we will be looking to refresh the artefacts available for adoption shortly. Keep checking our (or the museum) website for more details.
Don’t forget that you receive a certificate and an acknowledgment of your support in the museum for the 12 months of your adoption.
From the outset our adoption costs have been £25 per adult for a year, and £10 for a child. However, instead of just offering a seasonal reduction in our prices for those who adopt or renew during December we have decided to reduce the cost for everyone for the whole year and are pleased to announce our new prices as £15 per adult for a year, and £5 for a child. I hope that this will encourage you to either adopt for yourself, as a gift or even suggest to friends and family that this would make an unusual present.
Full information and application forms can be found on both our website https://friendsofhorshammuseum.co.uk/ and that of the museum https://horshammuseum.org/ .
