Horsham Museum & Art Gallery has a busy year lined up ahead and it all starts on Saturday (May 4) when Collyer’s open their Pop-Up Shop.
Visitors to the Museum (FREE admission) are invited to stop by and visit the shop which is stocked with merchandise created for the museum by Collyer’s BTEC National Art and Design students.
The students have worked very hard on their designs and they are looking very impressive, with references to the Museum’s artefacts and familiar parts of the town.
The very next day (May 5) sees the Museum’s Spring Garden Party which promises to be a fun event!
Enjoy all of the museum’s galleries and displays and hot and soft drinks will be available, plus live music in the garden (or inside if the weather proves troublesome!).
The Museum opens as usual at 10am and the music line-up is as follows:
12.30pm – 1.30pm: Folkus (a local duo who will have your toes tapping along to some jigs and reels).
2.30pm – 3.30pm: South Down Strings (a very talented quartet with a wide repertoire).
It’s part of the town’s aMAYzing weekend, with plenty going on across the town.
There’s barely time to draw breath before the half-term begins (May 28-31) and the Museum will be hosting its usual series of crafts. They cost just £1 for each participant while colouring is FREE.
The Friday Lates begin in June when the Museum will stay open until 8pm, with refreshments and live music.
These events proved a real winner last year, with visitors able to sit in the beautiful garden and enjoy some talented musicians and dancers.
The Friday Lates continue throughout the summer on July 19; August 16; and September 13.
So there’s plenty to see and do at the Museum in the coming months and, of course, they are open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm, with FREE admission.
