Museum’s musical May Bank Holiday treat

There was a musical treat for visitors to the Museum as it held a Spring Garden Party on Sunday May 5.

The Museum’s first major event of the year, part of the town’s aMAYzing weekend celebration, proved popular, despite the changeable weather.

Folkus had toes tapping with their music

In fact, the heavy rain held off for most of the musicians’ performances, allowing visitors to sit outside and enjoy some fine local talent.

South Downs String Quartet played in the Hurst Room

Steyning duo Folkus, with their mix of toe-tapping jigs and reels, soon attracted several onlookers.

Then it was the turn of the South Downs String Quartet. Fearing there might be some rain around they moved into the Hurst Room and, again, attracted a good audience who enjoyed their wide range of musical choice.

The next Museum event will be the first of the Friday Lates on June 7 when the whole town will be marking 70 years of Horsham District Council, with a distinctly 70s theme on show!
