Lot of love for Horsham Park!

It’s Love Parks week and here in Horsham we have one of the best (we certainly think so!).

We have pulled together a slideshow from the Museum archives to show how it has changed down the years.

A postcard from the 1950s featuring Horsham Park.

Park House has been at the core of the park, being built in 1701 by John Wicker and then sold to the Hurst family in the 1800s.

Park House has been under the ownership of Horsham District Council since 1928.

Down the years the area has been used for fundraising events, celebrations and just relaxing.

In 1934 the town’s first swimming pool was opened in the park and, in the 1970s, a sports centre was built.

The Park has its own volunteer Friends group who work to protect, enhance and promote thel park as a place of recreation and enjoyment for the long-term benefit of everyone in the local community and for wildlife.
