Small is beautiful at Horsham Museum

Many people visiting a museum are happy to enjoy the larger items on show – suits of armour, costumes, dinosaur bones and the like.

However, some of the most beautiful artefacts can be tiny and missed if you’re not careful!

Horsham Museum & Art Gallery is no different.

Tiny coins, pieces of Roman glass, small pocket watches, and Medieval jewellery can be easily passed by if you’re not careful.

So, when you visit a Museum take a moment to make sure you look at the smaller objects – they are just as fascinating and well worth a look!

Horsham Museum & Art Gallery is open (free admission) Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm.

  1. I guess the challenge is that larger items in museums can be so overwhelming that smaller pieces hardly stand a chance in comparison. They really only survive when grouped together or placed in their own case — almost borrowing the presence of a bigger artefact. Definitely an interesting point to think about!
