The Friends of Horsham Museum & Art Gallery are committed to operating in a safe, transparent, and responsible manner. As a registered charity, we follow recognised best practice in areas such as data protection, the use of social media, safeguarding, and financial management.

We maintain a set of internal policies covering these areas to ensure that our members, volunteers, and visitors are protected, and that our activities are conducted in line with current regulations and good governance standards.

Safeguarding

The Friends of Horsham Museum & Art Gallery are committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults who engage with our activities. We follow recognised safeguarding guidance and ensure that any volunteers involved in activities with vulnerable groups understand their responsibilities.

Social media policy

The Friends of Horsham Museum & Art Gallery use social media to share news, support the Museum, and engage positively with our community. To ensure that our online activity is responsible, respectful, and aligned with our charitable aims, we follow an internal Social Media Policy.

This policy guides how we communicate, how we protect individuals’ privacy, and how we uphold the standards expected of a registered charity. It helps us maintain a safe and constructive online presence for our members, volunteers and the wider public.

Financial Controls & Charity Governance

As a registered charity, we follow recognised standards of financial management and reporting, and ensure funds are used solely to support Horsham Museum.
