The old pubs of Horsham

For several weeks now the Horsham Museum & Art Gallery social media channels have been featuring photos of the town’s pubs, as part of the hashtag #ThrowbackThursday.

The Museum’s followers have seemingly loved the pictures of now defunct drinking establishments, such as the Horse & Groom, the Tanners Arms and Black Horse Hotel.

There’s also been interest in photos from years ago of those pubs that still exist, such as the Stout House.

The comments have been of memories working in these places or just visiting for a drink.

There’s also been anecdotes of former landlords and local characters.

If you want to view these pictures then follow the Museum on Facebook, Instagram or X (formerly Twitter) or check out the Museum’s own hashtag #Horsham Museum.
